This years parade will start at 10:00am sharp on Saturday August 19th, 2017. We ask that everyone gather at the staging area between 8:00 am. and 9:15 am. Floats ONLY enter at the corner of Wilson and Dartmouth. All others enter at corner of W. Main and Westbrook (across from fire station). It is very important that all entries be in place by 9:30 am at the latest! Also, there should be no vehicles in the staging area that are not registered as a parade unit. Parking is available on Wilson St. (Scott School) and at the fire station. Do not take parade participants into the lineup area by car!! They must walk in or ride in on the parade unit. NO EXTRA CARS ALLOWED! This only causes congestion and slows the parade. Your help on this is greatly appreciated.
The parade organizer will contact you with your assigned number for the parade the week of the parade. As you enter the parade lineup in the staging area you will need to have your number on the front, left hand side of your unit. You will check-in with parade officials and then move your unit and assemble at the corresponding number, marked along the street curbs. This number will also help our judges and announcers identify your unit during the parade.
For safety purposes we again request that NO candy or other items be thrown from the parade units! Walkers behind your unit may hand out items and candy. ANYONE THROWING CANDY OR ITEMS FROM A VEHICLE WILL BE REMOVED FROM THE PARADE AND WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO REENTER!
Four areas will be awarded prizes:
